I saw animals suffering in every locality in Durg-Bhilai and nobody came to help them, nobody bothered even when they saw an animal dying. That's when I decided to leave my job and start an organization working for welfare of stray animals.
Hey, I am Aanchal, a software engineer and I used to work in Pune. I was in town on a vacation when I realised that I wanted to do something for animals which will bring a change. With this determination, I started looking for ways to make a widespread impact when I got in touch with another passionate animal lover, Dr Dharamveer Chandrakar. We decided to start working together and bring a change in the lives of animals, to lessen their suffering, to make them feel what love is.
PFA Durg-Bhilai Unit-II is the only registered organization working for the welfare of animals in the twin cities. It has been three years that we are helping the strays. Intially we started with field rescues and doing onspot treatment.
Our determination lead us a way and slowly, we grew as an organisation by involving more people and could take up more severe cases.
It certainly was tough when only 2 or 3 volunteers were actively participating while the number of cases kept increasing day by day. Social networking sites helped us a lot to promote our work and motives, and it connected us with like minded people. Now we are at least a group of 15 people who are working to cover various domains of animal welfare
Our future aim is to build a shelter so that we can admit more animals for treatment. Till date we have rescued 3000+ animals including birds, pigs, horses, cows, dogs and cats. Our recent work involves rescue, sterilization, awarness events and adoption. We aim to reduce human animal conflict and want people to join as much as they can. Because it is together that we achieve harmony and peace with nature hence Calling it a platform "People for Animals".
